Why does people have to bring other people down by spreading rumors?

You've properbly heard of the big, cute Jelena couple. Yesterday, I read on a facebook fanpage, that they are getting married. My first thought was "Woow, good for them", but as I scrolled down on the page, I noticed that there was only ONE page, who wrote that. My second thought was "what a joke". If you following the cute couple, you've have found out that a lot of teenage girls (and women) are hating on the couple, maybe because they feel some kind of ownership on Justin or just simply because they are jealous. 

The qustion is, "why does peole have to bring other people down, by spreading rumours?"

That is something I don't quite understand. Why does people have to write something like that, just for fun but without even writing "just kidding" or "it was just a joke" before posting. People should think twice before writing something like that, because to some people it is really hurtful and it hurts other people a lot. That is just my opinion.

But if they really are getting married I diffently want congrat them.
